(Re)Natured Cities Project Kicks Off in Italy

The (Re)Natured Cities project officially launched on March 5, 2026, with a successful kick-off meeting held in Bari, Italy. Hosted by LUM University, the meeting marked the beginning of a collaborative effort to support municipalities in designing and implementing sustainable green and blue spaces.

Project partners from across the consortium came together to establish the project’s governance structure and align on its strategic direction. Key discussions focused on outlining the technical modules that will guide the project’s work in promoting urban greening, climate resilience, and environmental protection.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for partners to exchange expertise and strengthen collaboration as they embark on this shared mission to foster more sustainable and livable urban environments.

The day concluded with a field observation visit along Bari’s waterfront, where participants explored existing green and blue spaces. This hands-on activity offered valuable insights into local practices and helped ground future project outputs in real-world contexts.

The (Re)Natured Cities project now moves forward with a strong foundation, aiming to equip cities with the tools and knowledge needed to integrate nature-based solutions into urban planning.
